CAMAAY Projects

As a grassroot organization with over 10 years of experience in socio-economic development we have witnessed the progress but also the need to do not just more, but better. We need your help to tackle some of the most persistent challenges in health, education and infrastructure.

Health Education

STEM project:
Activity type: on-site volunteer
Duration: 4 months (Planned finish date: April 2025)- exit plan to be prepared with follow up project
Status: started & financed
Description: equip students with hands-on skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, fostering innovation and problem-solving. Objective: empower young minds, enhance career opportunities, and contribute to sustainable development in Cameroon.

Community garden:
Activity type: on site
Status: previous project/ to be continued- currently in financing need
Duration: aim to launch a 1 year program
Description: The Community Garden Development Project empowers local communities by creating sustainable gardens that enhance food security, nutrition, and social cohesion
Objective: Through training and eco-friendly farming, residents gain skills to grow their own produce while promoting environmental sustainability. This initiative also supports small-scale agribusiness, fostering economic empowerment.

Health

Soccer for development:
Activity type: on site
Status: project drafted with needs assessment- currently in financing need (20k USD)
Duration: aim to launch a 3 year program
Description: soccer as a tool to build a healthier society and promote peace. By engaging youth in sports, it fosters teamwork, discipline, and mutual respect while encouraging physical well-being and social inclusion.
Objective: Promote a healthy and active lifestyle through soccer. Use sports to bridge social divides and foster peace. Teach values of teamwork, respect, and discipline. Provide a safe space for youth development and community engagement.

Infrastruture

Solar power for schools and community buildings:
Activity type: on site
Status: grant proposal written- pending feedback
Duration: aim to launch a 5 year program
Description: This initiative aims to equip community buildings in Cameroon with solar panels, providing sustainable and reliable energy to schools, health centers, and public spaces. By harnessing solar power, the project enhances essential services, reduces dependence on unreliable grids, and promotes environmental sustainability.
Objective: Provide uninterrupted electricity for education, healthcare, and community services. Reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote clean energy solutions. Improve quality of life through stable and affordable power access. Foster economic growth by enabling local businesses and digital inclusion.

Democratized internet (Decentralized internet)
Activity type: on site
Status: in evaluation
Duration: aim to launch a 3 year program
Description: This initiative aims to provide free internet access points in key community spaces across Cameroon, ensuring connectivity for schools, and public areas. By expanding digital access, the project empowers education, economic opportunities, and social inclusion.
Objective: Bridge the digital divide by providing free, reliable internet in underserved areas. Support education, innovation, and access to online resources. Enhance communication and information sharing for communities. Foster economic growth by enabling digital skills and remote work opportunities.
